Detik.com: The Busiest Indonesian News Website

This is Huuya.com's review and result of Detik.com website, the busiest Indonesian news website ranked as no 561 Alexa Traffic Rank and no 10 Alexa Country Traffic Rank.
Huuya.com checked the Detik.com, the news website which always brings updates about finance, web, sports, cars, food, photos, and health news to Indonesians. One thing we notice: It does not have the "About" page (!) Find out why Huuya.com gave it a score of 487.
The Details
The (X)HTML, CSS and Web Accessibility
With the W3C Validator's settings of automatic encoding and document type, the website did not conform well to the valid XHTML 1.0 Transitional rules it used. The report snapshot on the left showed that its homepage had 57 ERRORS and 33 warnings! Detik.com got a score of O point for this.
After checking out Detik.com with the W3C CSS Validator, we found out that it did not perform well in conforming to the CSS rules. There were 5 ERRORS and 89 warnings needed to be fixed. Because of those 5 errors, we gave a score of 50 to Detik.com website.
WAVE, a free web accessibility evaluation tool provided by WebAIM (Web Accessibility In Mind), checked Detik.com website for its accessibility conformance. It detected 74 ERRORS! There were many alerts too. Because of the errors, Detik.com got another O point, just like its XHTML result.
The Google Page Speed and Yahoo! YSlow for Firebug
From the snapshot, you can see that Google Page Speed checked and gave a score of 83/100 to Detik.com website. The Google Page Speed identified that, among many warnings, Detik.com website needed to leverage browser caching, minimize the style sheets, and combine images in CSS sprites. Overall, its CSS conformance was not that bad. A score of 83 from Google Page Speed.
The Yahoo! YSlow checked Detik.com website and gave an overall performance of Grade F (!). This is due to the many HTTP requests the Detik.com performed to pull all the data before presented to its audience. The website used 14 JavaScripts, 5 external style sheets, and 16 external background images for its homepage! Those resources came from more than 5 (sub)domains totaling a data size of 1 Megabytes (!). No wonder Yahoo! YSlow complained about it. Yahoo! Yslow gave a poor performance score of 49 points to Detik.com website. See it yourself.
